Learn About Volcanoes, Lava and National Parks With Effie
National Parks is a one hour and fifteen minute virtual education adventure for 4 - 10 year old children. The Zoom program includes:
2 - 1 Wonderful Word Videos - Learn new words with Effie! In each One Wonderful Word video, Effie teaches the origin of the word, what the word means, and how to use the word in the sentence. Also, always fun, the children practice saying the word by attempting to beat Effie!
For National Parks, the first word, polychromatic is also used in the second video, and the children have fun looking out for, and identifying, it. The second word, pride, is used to encourage the children to take pride in what they learned that day… and, by the end of that program, it’s a lot to take pride in!National Parks Video — Effie takes the children on a true educational adventure across the globe and landing in Wyoming, as she teaches about national parks, and, specifically, America’s first national park: Yellowstone. The children will learn what a national park is, the origins of national parks in America, about Yellowstone, and all about what makes Yellowstone’s features so cool, or, shall I say, so hot. Here’s a clue: it’s a supervolcano!
Printable Color Sheets and Activities — All participants will receive a printable activity booklet ahead of the event that we will all do together over Zoom. This includes coloring and drawing activities, plus, sheets to practice writing the new words, and reflecting on what the word means to the child. Understanding that all children in this age range aren’t yet reading, there are plenty of coloring and drawing activities. The instructor and participants will get to share their art over Zoom.
